English:

why Home Owners are considered Superior Class in America

As the tax season is upon us, many home owners are preparing to claim all kind of tax deductions on their property. There are many tax shelters you can claim as a home owner. We will give you a list in the next article. It doesn't matter how many times people are trying to convince me that sometimes renting is better than buying; however, the evidences are not convincing enough to me. Other than things like the freedom to move or not having to deal with maintenance, it is clear that Home ownership has lots of tax advantages that that rental doesn't offer.

These tax advantages attributed to home ownership have a long history in America. As a matter of fact, they were present since the inception of America as home owners were perceived by the government as a superior class, Lords. since then, they have been called "landlord" until today. Back in the old days, peasants had to work the fields to pay for shelter. They couldn't afford regular food, pay extra in taxes to help build schools and maintain roads. Landlords were considered as major contributors and consequently were entitled to all kinds of tax benefits as result.
