State Sen. Gwen Margolis denigrates three opponents as "Haitians"

At a local Democratic meeting that took place last Monday night, Miami Herald reported that someone who was present, Gwen Margolis belittled three of her opponents by referring to them as "Haitians" and dismissed two others as "some teacher and some lawyer" . Margolis referred to her Haitian-American competitors such as businessman Anis Blémur, former state Rep. Phillip Brutus and state Rep. Daphne Campbell as "Haitians". She later added: "I have unlimited funds, and I'm going to spend every penny, and I'm not going to lose to those three Haitians or some teacher or lawyer."

State Senator Gwen Margolis who is the longest-serving sitting lawmaker in the Florida Senate is running for Miami-Dade district that runs from Miami Beach to Aventura.

Kenneth Merten: if Haitians are comfortable with CIEVE work, .. not bother us

Kenneth Merten, the Special Coordinator for Haiti at the State Department made his opinion known aw he was being questioned on the Voice of America. In regard to the the findings of the Commission (CIEVE) and possible election revamping, he declared: "We have always said we are concerned that the work of this Commission make more complicated and longer the electoral process. But if the people of Haiti is comfortable with the work of this Commission that not bother us". In regard to actual funding of the election, the Special Coordinator stated that his country has not yet made a decision.

Official Haiti Electoral Timetable, easy and simple

Election all over again in Haiti. On Monday, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announced the electoral timetable to finally put an end to the current cycle of election in Haiti. Here is what it will look like:

Launch of the electoral process to take place between 6 and 15 of June 2016

October 9, 2016 - Voting day number 1:
- 1st round of the Presidential election
- 2nd round of Legislative Complementary
- 1st round for 1/3 Senate

October 20 and 21, 2016: Preliminary results of the Presidential election and 1st round 1/3 of the Senate.

October 29 and 30, 2016: Preliminary results of Legislative Complementary 2015

The CEP wants to prevent Zombie voting in next election

A the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) announced the rerun of the last presidential election for October 9, 2016, they have decided to make some major changes to improve the electoral process all together. One of such changes includes putting an end to the practice of poll workers and observers being allowed to vote wherever they want on election day. The CEP thinks this was one of the reasons for fraud recently where more than 400,000 untraceable or Zombie votes and 180,000 fake voter were identified by the Verification Commission

Election in Haiti scheduled for October 9, 2016, with whom?, I don't know

We have the date for the presidential election in Haiti. It is scheduled for October 9, 2016, according to President Jocelerme Privert. The date was revealed following a direct question from Dominican President Danilo Medina to Privert on Saturday during a bilateral meeting at the summit of the ACS in Havana: "When is that elections will take place in Haiti?". According to the Haitian President, "Elections must take place on October 9, according to all available information".

However a very important question was not asked: With whom?

Muhammad Ali is dead at the age of 74

We just learned that the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali is dead. Ali died yesterday, Friday June 3, 2016, at a Phoenix-area hospital. He was admitted there several days ago and was being treated for respiratory complications. He was 74.

Jozy Altidore to fund all Haiti and USMNT Copa America matches to Haiti

The Haitian-American soccer player Jozy Altidore, will not be able to play for his native team of Haiti at the Copa America Centenario; however, he has contributed by providing the necessary funding to make sure that people in Haiti have the opportunity to enjoy the games. Altidore and his foundation are donated funds to make sure that every Haiti and USMNT match are broadcasted in Haiti. The St. Luke Foundation will arrange, host and supervise public watch parties for the games, which will feature large projection screens that will be transported to Haiti from Miami.

Haiti will be playing in Group B at the Copa America and its first game at the Copa America will be on June 4 against Peru

Shabba engaged to Marie Diane Claude

Herve Anthenor, Known under his artist name Shabba, has decided to decided to make things more formal with the mother of his three children. He has decided to get engaged with Diane Claude, whom he had an 11 years relationship with. The demand was made Wednesday, June 20, 2016.

The wedding is expected to take place sometime in December of this year with the ceremony taking pace in New York while the reception scheduled for Haiti.

This will give me plenty of time to save n order to purchase a new jacket for the event

Rose Ellen Greene donated $2 million for Education in Little Haiti

In an effort to facilitate the groundbreaking partnership between Florida International University (FIU) and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, local philanthropist Rose Ellen Green has donated $2 million so that the program can be extended to Little haiti in Miami. The expansion program will take place at Jesse J. McCrary Elementary School and will involve researchers, faculty, staff from FIU's Center for Children and Families with the objective to address pressing educational and social needs and improve the lives of children and families.

Don't worry, this is not Haiti. This will eventually benefit the community
