Three year old girl died of neglect at Haiti State University Hospital

Another casualty of the ongoing strike at the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH) by the Medical residents. A three year old girl who was taken to the hospital by her parents on Monday after feeling some discomfort in the night from Sunday to Monday, died for lack of care. According to the parents, their child remained in agony at the hospital for several hours and without any medical intervention before finally she finally passed away around 10:00 in the morning. The parent are convinced that an intervention from the doctors would have saved their child.

Verification Commission will not have to say who goes to run off

Mr. François Benoit who is the President of the Commission of Verification was the guest of Valery Numa this morning(May 24, 2016). Contrary to what many of us were waiting to come out the evaluation, they will not indicate the candidates qualified to go to the run off presidential election. The Commission has an easier job than that. They will only have to indicate the level of fraud found in their evaluation of 25 percent of the sample. They will not have to say if the run of should be between Jude Celestin and Jovenel Moise, Jude and Moise Jean Charle, Maryse Narcisse and so on.....

Only 510 out of 3235 Proce-Verbals inspected found to be acceptable

As we are getting close to the final report of the Commission of Verification, some interesting facts are are coming out. it was revealed that the Commission has found that out of 3235 Proce-Verbals inspected so far, only 510 of them were acceptable. In addition, The commission found massive fraud recorded in 90 percent of 490 Proce-Verbals excluded by the previous CEP. In addition, these deceptive acts were done in support of the candidate Jovenel Moise.

Mathias Pierre, a member of Pitit Dessaline, demands the removal of Jovenel Moise from the process. He quote article 178 of the Electoral decree.

Little Haiti could officially be recognized Miami neighborhood

Little Haiti has never officially been designated a neighborhood in the City of Miami. However that could change this week. On Thursday, The Commissioners will consider a resolution to finally put Little Haiti on the map of Miami. Activists are strongly supporting this move to make Little Haiti an official neighborhood in the City of Miami, saying it will help fighting gentrification.

There is a strong opposition to this move as well, people motivated by both commercial interests and history of the area

National Assembly session blocked for 10 million Gourdes

National Assembly session that was supposed to take place last Thursday did not happen. Causes: boycott by the majority of senators and representatives over money issue. The decided to boycott the session because 10 million gourdes allocated for communal funds were not included in the amending budget submitted by the Executive. The Parliamentarians threatened not to allow the National Assembly to take place unless the executive includes the 10 million gourdes allocated for communal funds

Guy Philippe requested 15 days to respond to Court request

A summons was issued for the senatorial candidate and DEA fugitive Guy Philippe to appear before the Court today (Tuesday, May 24, 2016). However, his attorney, Reynold Georges, said his client needs 15 days to prepare his defense before showing.

Guy Philippe made several declarations in the press recently of his intention to go into rebellion and overthrow President Jocelerme Privert if he did not resign on Saturday, May 14, 2016. This was before the attack in early Monday morning, May 16, 2016 on the Police Station in Cayes.

This is Mr. Uder Antoine who has been named Executive Director of the CEP. He replaced Mosler Georges who left the position on Friday, may 23, 2016. Uder Antoine was the former coordinator of the Office of Management and Human resources.

Guy Philippe summoned to the Parquet of Jeremie, May 24

Problem will never end. The former rebel leader Guy Philippe has been summoned to appear in front of the Parquet of Jeremie tomorrow, May 24, 2016, to answer to the accusations related to the attackers on the police station in the town of Les Cayes. The summon came from the government commissioner to the Court of first instance, Roosevelt Zamor.

Will Guy Philippe answer this call of the Parquet of Jeremie?

He is a candidate for the Senate of Grande Anse, not yet an official entitled to any immunity.

Jocelerme Privert: attacks in Cayes done by bandit, criminal and trafficker

President Jocelerme Privert set the tone in Arcahaie on May 18 for the 213th anniversary of Haiti Flag, specially and wants to send a clear signal to those interested in crime. In regard to the terror attack on the departmental police station in Les Cayes, Jocelerme Privert stated: " When a person sits in his home, asks people to take up arms and attack a police station and kill police officers, he has no other name but bandit, criminal and trafficker." He went on to say that" .......we will not tolerate anarchists, murderers, traffickers, criminals, who look to put the country in a trap. Law enforcement has the order to track down these criminals and bring them before justice."

Andre Michel wants PHTK disqualified and listed as terrorist organization

The lawyer Michel is not a fan of the Michel Martelly and his political party PHTK. As a matter of fact, he wants the party to be removed from the electoral process in Haiti. Andre Michel feels that the PHTK should have been disqualified by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) long ago as PHTK and its allies were named for acts of violence during the August 9, 2015 elections. He also stated that PHTK was involved in the massive electoral fraud during the October 25, 2015 elections.

According to Andre Michel, PHTK is not a democratic political party but rather a terrorist organization.
