Jonas Coffy replaced Rudy Heriveaux at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor

The leader of Party Ayisyen pou Ayiti, Jonas Coffy has been named to head the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor,
replacing Rudy Heriveaux. Both individuals have a Fanmi Lavalas background.

As early as few weeks ago, the president of the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Disputes, Robert Fritz St. Paul, Ariel Joseph Jean and Saint-Just Momprevil informed the press that they were in the process of bringing a lawsuit against Jonas Coffy for defamation after the later had accused them on a radio station of receiving bribed by René Préval in the case of Jacky Lumarque.

Shabba of Djakout #1 accused Roro and Pouchon of being jealous of his success

High emotion growing within the Haitian Kompa band Djakout # 1. After more than 17 years of working together, anger, hate, Shabba made a damaging accusation on the drummer Roro Lainé and singer and Pouchon Duverger, by revealing that these two were jealous of him because of his achievements in music.

Things could have been brewing inside of Roro without showing; however, he feels that he couldn't hold it any longer with this latest behavior coming from his partners.

How did it begin?
Shabba is in the process of producing his third solo album and both Roro and Pouchon were invited to participate in it but declined his invitation. Roro claimed that their refusal t take part on his new album confirms that they are jealous of him for his success in music.

Dominican Company disappeared with 10 million to build the Parliament building

This is either a case of ignorance, total incompetence or where several Con Artists get together to defraud the Haitian government. In 2010, the Haitian Government signed a contract with Dominican firm HADOM to build the Haitian Parliament that was destroyed during the 2010 earthquake. The government gave them $10 million US before seeing any result.

The received the first disbursement of over $10 million from the Haitian government to start construction. Since then, they are no where to be found. When UCLPB went to visit the workk site, they concluded it was a waste of money as not much was done for the amount disbursed so far. The new government of Jocelerme Privert and Enex jean-charles has agreed to have another construction to come and finish the job

Privert/ Jean-Charles government increases in size

Unlike any other counties in the world, the Haitian government does not create the environment to facilitate the creation of businesses and jobs to its population. It does it directly by creating jobs for the citizens.

Yves Germain Joseph revealed misuse of PetroCaribe fund with road construction

May, 2016 - Hearing of former Minister of Planning and External Cooperation(MPCE) Yves Germain Joseph, revealed that the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation contracted with the GTC Construction firm for the construction of 18 km of road connecting Fermathe road through Soisson to end at "Académie de Frères". The total amount of the contract was $ 22 million.

One: According to the former minister, the company received $ 21 million or over 95 percent of the total cost of the project for performing only 8 km road or 44 percent of the work.

Former Minister Yves Germain Joseph revealed that following this incomplete work, a new contract was signed by the MPCE with the same construction construction company for $ 45 million with also PetroCaribe funds.

Michael Lecorps explaining with difficulties his involvement with PetroCaribe

The Former Director of Bureau of Monetary and aids Programs, Michael Lecorps, responded on Wednesday to the invitation of the Commission Anti-Corruption of the Senate. However, things were not easy for the former BMPAD Director at all. Michael Lecorps was unable to come up with acceptable justification for a contract signed between the Haitian government and the company ESD Engineering, also his services for the maintenance of the Electricity companies built by venezuela. Michael was making $888 thousand US dollars a Month working for that same company.

The 22th edition of Livres en Folie in Haiti

Wednesday May 11, 2016 was the Launch of the 22th edition of Livres en Folie. The actual event will take place on May 26 and 27 at the Historical Park of Sugar Cane. This year Livres en Folie will pay tribute to Marie Vieux Chauvet who is a novelist and playwright.

84 suspected criminals graduated with the 26th promotion of the PNH

The National Human Rights Network(RNDDH) revealed that several individuals with criminal records are included in the
26th promotion of the police academy who graduated on Tuesday.

On the same day that 1475 new agents came out of the Police Academy, RNDDH shared a list comprising of 84 individuals with the same names of some of those graduates with grave suspicion on them.

- 16 are former prisoner who evaded during the 2010 earthquake
- 16 are members of various criminal gangs
- 10 were involved in rape, in some cases involving minor children
- 7 involved in "Voies de Fait"
- 3 involved in crime with gun
- 3 having problem with the justice system for possession of illegal guns
- 2 individuals deported from U.S. for their involvement in robberies and abuse on minors
- 1 individual was involved in kidnapping

Verification Commission increases sample from 15% to 25%

The Tabulation center is finally under the control of the Commission of Verification. On Thursday, search of the truths, the Verification Commission moved to the Tabulation center with over 60 specialists to start their challenging task of evaluating whether or not there wwere frauds of irregularities in the past election, and if so who did it.

One very important point to note, the Commission has increased its sample. Instead of the 15% originally stated, the Commission of Verification will sample 25% of the "Proce-Verbals". They will be working under close supervision of various Political Parties.

Haitians quietly adjusting to the collapsed Bridge on Route 9

Take a look of the collapsed Bridge On Route 9 over Riviere Grise. This bridge that collapsed few months ago has not been fixed. It joins one of the most frequented roads in Haiti. Because of it importance in transportation, many cars and trucks have taken their chances by crossing the river. Also there is also an opportunity in any situation. Some local people are now charging a fee to transport people over their back from one side of riviere Grise to the other. Onced more this demonstrates the tolerance of the Haitian people and the indifference of their authorities.
