This project will be supervised by the Ministry of Finance and Economy Technical Execution Unit (UTE) in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health. A Spanish firm, Teyico Elecnor, is set to commence execution of the project beginning September 2013. The project is estimated to last for 34 months. Under the most strict standards of compliance, this new hospital is set to be built on 25,800 square meters built surface. So as to improve functioning and complete the offer of care, the former military hospital will be attached to the site. The Executive Director of UTE, Michael De Landsheer, indicated that it was a great challenge for the hospital to offer services to the people during the entire period of its construction. He also noted that the new hospital will beat the requirements for a referral hospital of a university and that the quality control and the supervision will be present during the entire reconstruction period.
