U.S. Ambassador to Haiti, Kenneth Merten is out and Pamela Ann White is in

In a move that seems shocking and unpredictable, President Barack Obama has nominated Ambassador Pamela Ann White, a career diplomat to replace the current U.S. Ambassador Kenneth H. Merten. To take effect, the nomination has to be approved by the U.S. Senate. This was announced on Monday, January 23, 2012.

Pamela Ann White currently serves as the U.S. Ambassador to Gambia. Prior to that, she worked for United States Agency for International Development (USAID) where she was Mission Director in Liberia, Tanzania, and Mali. From 1999 to 2001, Pamela Ann White served as USAID's Deputy Director for East Africa. She also held a number of overseas positions with USAID, including: Executive Officer in Senegal, Haiti, Egypt and South Africa and Community Liaison Officer in Burkina Faso.

On the other hand, with Kenneth Merten no longer U.S. Ambassador to Haiti, we will lose the first US Ambassador who was fluent in the Haitian Creole language. We also will never forget Ambassador Kenneth Merten for being with us at a time when we really needed all our friends. He was the U.S. ambassador through the earthquake of January 12, 2010. His leadership and work in expeditious diplomacy, earned him the Ryan C. Crocker award in 2011.

These are PIRATE radio saotitns, by definition illegal.

Many don't have websites, and a quick Google search seems to show that those that do aren't spending much time updating them. No I'm talking more about how these pirates are allegedly using their airwaves to air calls, help family members learn information, etc. I have no idea if they are I don't live in Boston anymore and even if I did, I don't know what all their frequencies are since many of them come and go at odd hours.

I think there's a big Haitian pirate on 101.3FM and another on 89.3FM, but I don't know where they're based or how good their coverage is. There are (or were) a bunch between 1580 and 1700

I have a question.

The US ambassy in port-au-Prince can solve the issue of double nationality for president Martelly.

I is just a matter of confirming whether or not the Haitian president has a US nationality.

I heard the commission will travel to the US. This is bolony.THE COMMISSION IS Tryng to hide something

Michel Martelly has a new boss

This is the real change of power.

This change in Ambassador to Haiti is more important than even changing a government in Haiti.

The Haitian government takes his order usually from the US embassy.

A chnage in the U.S. Ambassy in Haiti from Kenneth Merten to Pamela Ann White means that Martelly will take order from a new
