Obed Cetoute, Canadian Football player

Obed Cetoute was born on January 7, 1983 in Montreal, Canada, as the son to a Haitian woman who had migrated to Canada to escape the poverty that is so rampant in the Caribbean country. At the tender age of 14 he expressed his desire to play well organized professional football. His mother was reluctant to let him go, as she wanted his son to follow the path to academic excellence. It took the intervention of Obed's uncle, who took it upon himself to convince her that football is a noble profession.

Obed Cetoute was signed by Toronto Argonauts on May 27, 2007 following a series of tests which he successfully went through. He played for this club from 2007 to 2009. He was a wide receiver whose speed terrorized the team's opponents. He featured in most of Argos games, with a considerable number of touchdowns and even more passes.

On June 6, 2010, Obed Cetoute was traded for Roughriders' Jonathan St. Pierre. He played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders until August 2011, when he was officially released from the club. He is still active in football. He weighs 98kilograms and possesses a height of 1.93 meters. He also played football while in college at Central Michigan.
