Two more candidates kicked out of the race in Haiti

On Wednesday, the CEP removed two more candidates from the legislative election. The Provisional Electoral Council so far has disqualified a total of 16 candidates for their involvement in violence and disturbances at various polling stations on August 9.

The two candidates who received disqualification are: Lubern Pierre of Political party PHTK and Jackson Momplaisir of the LAPEH . These two candidates were running for deputy and according to Haiti election officials, Lubern Pierre was removed for his aggressive behavior toward two CEP officials on election day, and Jackson Momplaisir, for assault and other disruptions.
