Bill for Department of State to Report Haiti Recovery and Development to Congress

It was introduced to measure the progress of recovery and development efforts in Haiti following the earthquake of January 12, 2010, and for other purposes. The other purposes include: review of U.S policy towards sustainable rebuilding and development, helping the affected country, its government and citizens economically and politically, maintaining law and order, essential supplies and building necessary infrastructure with immediate and long term perspectives through a process of cooperation, coordination and control.

The bill will develop a three year strategic plan. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that implementation of the above will cost less than $500,000 each year and a total around $1.00 million over the 2015-2019 period, depending upon availability.
