Prior to his entry into professional sports, Marc Calixte played college football at Tennessee-Martin University. He now plays as a linebacker for the Stampeders, a position in which strength is highly valued. According to John Hufnagel, the Stampeders General Manager and Head Coach, "Marc is as effective a special-team player as you can find in the Canadian Football League . . ."

During his nine years in the CFL, he has played in 138 season games and been in nine playoff games. In 2011 alone, Calixte performed six special-team tackles, and his total record of special-team tackles during his entire career, with the Stampeders, is 88.

In 2008, Marc Calixte played in the Grey Cup, which the Stampeders won, and looks forward in his 10th season to winning the playoffs again, for a chance to play in the Grey Cup game.

In 2011, Calixte suffered an injury and was sidelined for the final ten season games, although he managed to suit-up for the first seven games of the season. However, he was able to play in the Western Semi-Final against the Edmonton Eskimos.

Marc takes great pride in his membership with the Stampeders, over his nine-year career with the CFL, and ". . . looks forward to my 10th season in Calgary . . .", a contract extension the Stampeders have offered him.
