The company is now planning to help Haiti by build hospitals and schools to the people there. This will speed up reconstruction together with other companies helping in other fields. It will help establish schools and hospitals in Haiti but will not brand them the name Heineken. This will help the nation a great deal as it is trying to reconstruct from the earthquake effects.

The Heineken Company is charitable as it has helped in setting up of HIV and Aids clinics in various parts of Africa and has also bought stakes in a few Haiti-based businesses. The plans to put up the schools and hospitals are yet to be finalized as the company officials have to meet with President Michel and the Clinton Global Initiative, which was founded by former President of the United States Bill Clinton with the stated mission to "strengthen the capacity of people throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence." The Foundation focuses on four critical areas: health security, economic empowerment, leadership development and citizen service and racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation. Unfortunately the president is in Miami recovering from a blood clot in his lungs. He was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday and the date of his return is undisclosed and so is the hospital he is admitted at.

John Nicolson, Heineken's president for the Americas, said the donation to help Haiti school and Hospital is small though it will be of great help in such a time as now. The company is steered by the Heineken family from one generation to another hence a chain family business. "Corporates have audit structures and management that can run and cost projects well. That's what corporations could add to charities," Nicolson told the Financial Times the leading gazette in America.

It is definitely a step in the right direction.

The Heineken family has been controlling it since it was founded. As we speak the beer brewing company operates in more than 71 countries. It started in Dutch and has now become world-wide. Since 1975, most Heineken brand beer has been brewed at the Heineken brewery in Zoeterwoude, in Netherlands. It has 140 breweries and has received numerous awards since it was founded.
