Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez died, A great loss for Haiti

The haitian government hs already reacted to the death of President Hogo Chavez. Haitian President Michel Martelly has sent his condolences on his Facebook page stating: "I extend, on behalf of the people of Haiti, my sincere condolences to the Venezuelan people following the death of President Hugo Chavez."
Following the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the government of Michel Martelly took a decreed for three (3) days of mourning observed as a sign of respect for what was Hugo Chavez. It is to start on Wednesday March 6. During these three days, the Haitian flag will be flown at half mast, radio stations are invited to broadcast music appropriate in the circumstances.

President Hugo Chavez, an advocate for the poor, has demonstrated in many occasions his affection and admiration for the people of Haiti. His has a long history of Haiti financially. one of the most public way is through the PetroCaribe agreement. Following the 2010 Earthquake, his country was among those providing the most unconditional support to the people of Haiti

The Haitian Foreign Minister, Pierre Richard Casimir, stated: "A great loss for Venezuela, for the region and for Haiti, because of the quality of relations between the two countries."

The President of the Republic of Haiti, Michel Martelly, the Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe Salvador, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religious Affairs, Pierre Richard Casimir, are scheduled to go to Venezuela to attend the funeral of President Hugo Chavez that will be sung in Caracas, Friday, March 8.
