Haitian the highest approving population for U.S. job performance and leadership

Between Latin American and Caribbean countries Haitians were found to be the group with the highest approval and appreciation for U.S. job performance and leadership. What the Gallup survey has found is that of 24 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean surveyed, Haiti came up on top with an approval rating of 71 percent and that Haitians in general have consistently remained the highest approving populace in the region.

It would have been interesting to also ask the Haitian population whether or not they approve the way the U.S. has been working with current government in Haiti? is it likely that the government of Michel Martelly will receive an approval rating of 71 percent just like the U.S? Haiti's Fate Is Decided In Washington, Not Port-au-Prince

Michel Martelly Martelly enjoying over 80% Approval

Eat your heart out, opposition! I am assuming that the Haitian President Michel Martelly is probably saying just that following the result of the poll taken by the PR firms, Newlink and Dagmar, showing that the president is enjoying a comfortable 80.5% rating among the population. This is historic since this actually put him as the president with the highest approval rating in the Western Hemisphere.

Now, I am totally confused.

Isn't it just recently that anti-government protests brought tens of thousands of people to the streets of Port-au-Prince? what about the recent success of the Lavalas party in putting thousands and thousands of people to protest against the Martelly government?

Fok bagay sa resoud. Anpil moun ap di ke Jean Bertrand Aristide te gin chans po li te vini yon Nelson Mandela, min paske li pa ouè pi lwen ke print nin li, li pedi chans sa pou la vi

Newsmaker Interview: Nelson Mandela, 1990

In 1960 when ANC was banned, Mandela proposed a military wing in ANC. In 1961 however, this proposal was considered to be a violent tactic and yet allowed the willing members of ANC to join Neslon Mandela's proposal without any fear. As a result, Umkhonto we Sizwe was formed. Mandela was arrested and sentenced to imprisonment with hard labor for a period of 5 years. In 1963 several Umkhonto we Sizwe and ANC fellow members were arrested and Mandela was once again charged for plotting the overthrow of the ruling party/government by using violence. In 1964, Mandela along with 7 others was sent for life imprisonment.
