His body was found by police in a dug-up rock in Petionville. Near his body was a 9mm caliber pistol, so the police suspected the incident to be suicide. Osner Fevry was a famous lawyer, as well as adviser to Laurent Lamothe, the Prime Minister. He was the eldest son and was working in the Haitian Embassy in Tokyo. He had visited his family for a month before returning to Tokyo, Japan. The Fevry family became worried after he went missing a day earlier.

After his death, there was no note found to indicate that the cause of his death was suicide besides the nearby gun. As such, the family has denied the notion of suicide and they didn't state any motive or suspicion for suicide. However, the police have so far no suspect, though they claim to have launched an investigation.

Osner Fevry Jr. was an affable man, with high academic qualifications. He was a lawyer like his father, and he graduated in theology from Evangelical Theological Seminary in Port-au-Prince. He holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration, which he studied for in South Korea after receiving a scholarship.
