Martelly Forms Parti Haitien Tet Kale on Third Anniversary in Office

Martelly spoke before his cabinet and a large crowd of supporters from Nord Department. He emphasized the government of Haiti (GOH) is dedicated to improving the population's lives, and is now organizing for fair and free elections. Elections had been delayed, but with the signing of the anti-corruption bill, and U.S. Congress's certification the GOH is demonstrating democratic principles, the U.S. will fund the elections.

The PHTK made a statement supporting Martelly, asserting ". . . regular and fair elections is a sign of . . . political stability necessary to investments and the creation of productive employment in our country."

Martelly also posted on social media the progress made since he took office. He said the results of reconstruction on the island are noticeable, but so much more needs to happen to rebuild the country's infrastructure. He added he is determined to sustain and build momentum in proportion to the challenges to keep the country on the right track. He struck a note of hope and faith saying, "We do not ask our activists to take to the streets to prove our strength . . . it is said that the force is calm."
