Vandreuil Complex is part of a network of other such structures being built in Departments around the country. The government of Haiti (GOH) is administering the Complex project with help from the Technical Implementation Unit; Urban Rehabilitation Unit; and Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation. The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is providing the funding.
President Martelly views FNASC as leading the charge in helping to bring more tourism to the de-centralized areas of the country. By giving over responsibility to the Departments for infrastructure improvements, particularly the restoration of historical monuments, they will be able to attract more tourist dollars. FNASC will also serve as a resource center for citizens from rural areas seeking community services.
President Martelly explains the de-centralized State agencies will function more efficiently with less bureaucratic waste and duplication. Civil servants at these agencies will experience simplified work processes and better management of the same. Martelly extends his gratitude to the IADB for making the GOH Complex project possible. All government officials and project funders were present at the opening ceremony.
