Kapi was a drummer and was in a local band when he got to be invited to play at one of the major occasions in the town. It was in this party that he got to be noticed by Albert Chancy who was the founder of the music group Tabou Combo. By then it was not known as Tabou Combo but instead was called Los Incognitos. However it was at this party that the group to be was founded and was the beginning of their long journey to fame.

However Yvon Andre was at first hindered from fulfilling his achievements by his father during which time artist had a very bad reputation and his father did not see the future in the industry. Hence was he prevented from involving himself with anything to do with music and for the rest of that year he saw the wish fulfilled.

However the following year Yvon Andre 'Kapi' was allowed to participate in the various occasions on Sundays since he was doing good at school and as such he grew and nurtured his talent until the music group established their very first hit song which was a number one hit song in France. It was this song that made them famous all over France and that was a stepping stone for them to future glories in both Haiti and France.
