University of the Nouvelle Grand'Anse

University of the Nouvelle Grand'Anse or UNOGA consists of three parts mission - Teaching, Research and Service. Teaching mission involves educating the students of the university and then providing continuous education to them. Research mission is about pursuing scientific as well as technological research while the Service mission concentrates on dissemination of technological, scientific and cultural information as well as participating in different regional development programs.

The University of the Nouvelle Grand'Anse has its accreditation by government of Haiti pending because of a few pending documents but the university has received a legal status and the diplomas received by the graduates of the university now have more value than before.

UNOGA has been helping in the development of Grand'Anse in various ways. The most significant of all developments is the increase in the competitiveness of Grand'Anse through development of human resources through creation of knowledge and transmission of the same using best technologies and practices. UNOGA also spreads awareness among people by enlightening them about possible sustainable environmental and economic growth and development. UNOGA is also an exchange and clearing house for groups taking part in research and development.

The University of the Nouvelle Grand'Anse helps the community in three distinct ways:
• Providing local resources for decentralization support.
• Provides technically qualified personnel for regional development support.
• Graduates who will be serving their community are aware of principles of justice as well as the culture of the Republic of Haiti and hence, can provide better support and can stand up to the challenges of globalization leading to sustainable and integrated regional growth.

University of the Nouvelle Grand'Anse is currently developing university level courses in Management & Administration and Agriculture & Animal Husbandry. The university programs start with General Studies Program designed for 1 year so that the students are exposed to knowledge in technical sciences and humanities which help them to develop analytical capabilities and critical disposition and thereby help them in their research. These allow them to become life-long learners with a high degree of moral and intellect that tickle their creative thought process allowing them to serve their country better.
