Who is Véronique Roy, the companion of Jean-Claude Duvalier

Roy's persona as something of a femme fatale, considered by some to be the mistress of Duvalier, is aggravated by the air of mystery which surrounds her. What exactly is her label? That's the question most persons would like answered. But the lack of dialogue as to the true role she plays in his life leaves the matter up for speculation, with some labeling her as companion, mistress and, overall political upstart.
In the past she has been known as a consultant for public relations, a stylist for royalty, a part of the team that, in 2006, launched the Francois Duvalier Foundation, and a could-be descendant of former Head of State from 1950 to 1956, Paul Eugene Magloire. In her new role she assiduously filters interview questions and responses for the former despotic leader, locks down access to his person and touts him as the 'president for life'. In this capacity, she attends various events and fundraisers, pushing forward the cause of Haiti's former ruler within the Diaspora. Whatever her official title, one thing is glaringly obvious of Ms. Roy, she is, perhaps, Jean-Claude's best friend in Haiti.
