Stanley Lucas on salary for propaganda work for Martelly Government
Stanlay lucas has been all over the media during the past five years defending the government of Michel Martelly against multiple attacks. Many at one point considered him as a true friend and believer of the accomplishments of the Martelly government. However, based on information just released, Stanley Lucas was just doing a job which is ongoing propaganda for the government of Michel Martelly.
According to Valery Numa of Radio Vision 2000, Stanley receives a check of $5000 US on a regular basis just to do propaganda for the government. Initially the checks were being issued by the Haitian embassy in Washington D.C. However when Paul Altidor became the Haitian Ambassador in Washington, he had an issue with the arrangement. According to Valery Numa, Ambassador Altidor did not want to pay a salary to someone who did not work at the embassy. As solution was found where Stanley Lucas would continue to receive his salary but it will be issued instead by the Haitian embassy in New York.
Michel Martelly celebrating three years in Office
This is something you can see for yourself. The third anniversary of the Government of Michel Martelly was celebrated in Champ-de-Mars this Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in front of an imposing crowd.
According to the number of people who were present at Champ-de-Mars to celebrate with the president, I can only make two conclusions: it's either the government or its supporters did a great job to gather all these people in Champ-de-Mars or the population is really satisfied with the accomplishments of his government.
Banner of Michel Martelly Welcoming CARICOM Members in Haiti
This is a picture worth sharing with you which was first noticed by touthaiti.com. Haiti was the host for the 24th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which will be held on February 18 and 19, 2013.
This picture you are looking at was a banner placed along the road Bourdon on the way to Pétion-Ville. This banner in which the Haitian President personally welcomes the CARICOM members to Haiti.
In my opinion, this is a classic case of propaganda on the part of this government. We have seen it in many other situations where the credit is giving personally to the president.
President Michel Joseph Martelly met Pope Benedict XVI - VIDEO
On November 22, 2012, Haitian president Michel Martelly and family met Pope Benedict XVI in Rome.
Martelly also met the Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Bertone where the Vatican agreed to continue to support Haiti to recover from the 2010 earthquake.
Video of Haitian president thanks Pope for quake aid during Vatican visit:
For me the "Haitian Joudalist", it was important to notice two important facts from the meeting between President Michel Martelly and Pope Benedict XVI.
- One, If you look closely, you will see the Haitian President with his "Pink Bracelet" visibly displayed during the meeting.
Michel Martelly awarded Free Propaganda on Radio Mega by Alex Saint Surin, Carrefour
On April 25, 2012, Mr. Alex Saint Surin who hosts a popular Radio show on Radio Mega in Miami had the honor to welcome our president Michel Martelly who has been recovering in Miami from a blood clot in his lung.
The experienced radio host spent over two hours with President Martelly and wife, allowing them to conduct free propaganda on his show, instead of asking him important questions about the status of the country as well as holding him responsible for being the president of Haiti.
Indeed, the popular Radio host on Radio Mega, Alex Saint Surin, covered a variety of topics with President Martelly. From his current health condition, to the reason he had to travel to Miami, from his relationship with the Haitian parliament to former Prime Minister Garry Conille, from issue related to his citizenship to allegation of corruption with the Dominican Senator Felix Bautista. This is just to name a few.
Is Michel Martelly a "Papa bon ke" or modern version of the Duvalier regime?
Looking at President Michel Martelly distributing gifts to those who could not afford to is truly a good thing. The president has been able to make Christmas for many families a little brighter. Many received gifts such as toys for the children, envelops with cash, motorcycles and even brand new cars for a few who were the luckiest.
I know this is good and specially at the end of the year it is probably a good thing to do for the people who have been through so much. Too many people in Haiti had to deal with so many bad situation for at least the past two years; namely. the 2010 earthquake, Cholera, poverty, insecurity, health issues, and much more.
