Kanaval, the time of Ti Chapo - Painted Hats

Whatever happen to these hats. i don't know about you but I rarely see these things in Haiti during the Carnival season. Are the businesses that use to sponsor these activities no longer interested?

I remember we would steal these hats right on the heads of the people. Specially if the have a beautiful one. The way we would do that is with a pick-up truck. As the driver of the truck pretends to be asking for information, one of the passenger in the back of the pick-up would pull the hat and we all in the tryck would take off
