"Addiction" tells the tale of a substance abuser, who wages war with his drug and alcohol demons, while searching for fulfillment in love. Early reports from industry insiders, who have gotten a first look at the film, say the character study of a young man's struggle against the undertow of drug addiction is poignant and compelling.
Pierre earned a degree in Drama and Theatre at the University of New York, but ended up in film, quenching his thirst for the intimacy of the silver screen. "Addiction" is not Pierre's first outing as a filmmaker. He authored a screenplay for his first film, "J-12", acting in and directing the production. He received a distribution deal, and "J-12" will be televised on national TV.
Pierre has been honored by the International Movie Trailer Festival with a People's Favorite Award for "Three of One Kind", his second time helming a film, which he also starred in. He has as well been successful as a TV actor, most notably on "Law & Order: Special Victims' Unit".

"Addiction" did not receive an Academy Award nomination.
This story has the wrong information.
The semi final results are already in, and the film "Addiction did not even qualify for the semi final round, let alone final round.
The film does have to play at a theater for 3 days, but that is only for the Academy to even review it. Just because the film plays at a theater does not a guarantee that the film will be nominated, it still needs to be voted by the Academy.
