All ministries currently running a budget deficit, Daly Valet

Is th Haitian Government bankrupted? It seems like it if you heard the last comment made by Daly Valet. According to the advisor for President Jocelerme Privert, none of the advisors to the president has received any salary since he came into power. Daly Valet declared on Radio vision 2000 on Thursday, May 5, 2016 that the advisors did not receive even one gourde for their services. He also informed the listeners that all the ministries are currently running a budget deficit. According to Mr. Valet, the predictions were over estimated with all spending for current fiscal year already made by the government of Michel Martelly.

14 Per Cent of National Budget for Universal Education in Haiti

Education has remained a key obstacle for Haiti's economic and social development. A survey indicates that approximately 35% of the Haitian youth are unable to read and on average Haitian children spends less than four years in school. The present Martelly government is committed to offer free and universal education on a priority and has rolled out a plan get 1.5 million students in school with improved curriculum and trained teachers by 2016.

On February 7th, 2014, the Haitian President Michel Martelly told a special session of the OAS (Organization of American States) Permanent Council that his government has sanctioned 14% of the national budget to promote universal education. Universal education gives access and equal opportunity to all people to education regardless of their background, class, ethnicity or physical disabilities. According to the Haitian President, the government held view that education is the linchpin for every development process whether it is on protecting environment, judicial system or for economic development. His government is in the process of identifying prospective areas for promoting foreign investments.

Ministry of Tourism Budgets for Tourist Police in Haiti

Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, Haiti's Minister of Tourism, has been promoting Haiti as a popular tourist destination in the U.S. and Canada lately. Now in another effort to make Haiti a comfortable travel destination, she is proposing a Tourist Police force to monitor streets and sidewalks, adjacent to restaurants, hotels, and other tourist spots in Haiti. Recently, she held meetings with airport o¬fficials to deploy an escort service to deliver travelers from the airport to the front steps of their hotels.

Villedrouin wants the Tourist Police to keep panhandlers at bay, when tourists are visiting any tourist spot. Why she asks, should tourists be asked to subsidize our homeless on Haiti's streets? The begging for money has got to stop, she insists.

Giovanni Dorelien, New Coordinator of the Primature

The Directorate of Communications, under the direction of the Haiti Primature, announced to the media that Prime Minister-Elect Laurent Lamothe has selected Giovanni Dorélien as Coordinator of the Department of Budgetary Affairs in the Primature. The Communication Directorate spoke about the bureaucratic inconsistencies and non-cooperation that has interfered with addressing the needs of the country, within the Primature, specifically the lack of communication between the Directorates of Administrative and Budgetary Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The Communication Directorate reported that with the appointment of Giovanni Dorelien as Coordinator in the Primature, it is imperative that he get all Directorates and Ministries working together to do the hard work necessary to rebuild Haiti's infrastructure, secure private investors, and create new jobs through foreign investment. As part of the announcement, the Communication Directorate listed Dorélien's credentials in government service, as a senior liaison officer for several state agencies, in which he successfully reconciled conflicts between warring factions within department agencies.
