Incorporating a business in Haiti

Limited Liability Corporation in Haiti involves three shareholder partners and board members. However, at least one of the board members must be a Haitian citizen to make it an eligible business. When it comes to obligations, each partner has a role to play depending on its contributions. Branch of a Foreign Public Limited Company, on the other hand, is a type of business incorporation that must be registered at Haiti's Book of Commerce. It should also be filed at other government business agencies involving the fiscal and social sectors.

General Partnership and Limited Partnership Companies in Haiti are formed of two or more partners that share the same obligations and responsibilities for the business. Meanwhile, an individual company, also called as sole proprietor, does not need two or more partners to work. In this type of business incorporation, the business' name must be registered at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, while all the necessary documents must be presented at the General Tax Administration.

These are the types of business incorporation in the country. Any person planning to open a business must know and understand this in order to plan properly. Without any knowledge with business incorporation and all its requirements, a business might face a lot of difficulties and might delay its opening.
