Town of Grand-Boucan in Haiti

The sparkling Caribbean Sea can be seen from the center of town, and the sight of fishermen carrying their nets to the beaches lets tourists know this agricultural activity puts food on the table for many poor Haitian families living there. The sight of the city from a sea vessel, bobbing off the coast, inspires awe with its breath-taking mountain peaks set against a Caribbean blue sky, unlike no other in the world.
Grand-Boucan has a weak road infrastructure. Typical of many small communes in Haiti, what few roads exist are unpaved. Unless one has a four-wheel drive--and most residents do not--the roadways are difficult to navigate--even on foot. The government of Haiti (GOH) has been promising funding to improve roads but has yet to deliver. The international community, active in many road projects, cannot be expected to fund every project itself in Haiti.
The GOH should be working night and day to make road work happen across the country.
