Brazilian Envoy Ricardo Seitenfus, MINUSTAH's presence in Haiti Illegal

Organization of American States (OAS) in Haiti Special Representative, Ricardo Seitenfus, is angry with UN Stabilization Mission in Haiti's (MINUSTAH) accusations against him. In 2010 he said MINUSTAH charged him with coercing the mission into its 6-year presence in Haiti. Not true responds Seitenfus and points to the Haitian constitution as invalidating the presence of MINUSTAH. Also the treaties Haiti has signed with the international community further invalidates MINUSTAH's presence on the ground. Seitenfus further clarifies that because MINUSTAH has no business being in Haiti the diplomatic immunity it has granted itself is also illegal.

Seitenfus has also gone on the attack with Haitian friends groups. He claims they have repeatedly made the same mistakes trying to handle political upheavals on the island. Seitenfus decries the amount of spending the MINUSTAH operation has racked up, almost $8.6 billion. Seitenfus, who once was Brazil's special envoy to Haiti, became tapped to represent the OAS due to his expertise in international relations, and in Brazilian / Haitian foreign policy.

Ricardo Seitenfus book, International Crossroads and Failures in Haiti

Within Ricardo Seitenfus' new book called "International Crossroads and Failures in Haiti" he details what went on with the 2010 elections. There were discussions that the meddling was to try to force the President, Rene Preval, from office by messing with the ballot box for the election. This was to ensure that the candidate Jude Celestin would not move on in the runoff election. The candidate that won the runoff election was Michel Martelly even though less than 1/5 of the eligible voters participated in the election.

The author of this book, Seitenfus, expressed his theory of the election meddling and was not afraid to explain what is going on with the government of Haiti and the corrupt NGOs. He confirms through his book that the United Nations was also responsible for cholera getting into Haiti and tried to cover it up. UN Special Representative, Edmond Mulet wanted to ensure that Rene Preval was out of office and even possibly moved into exile. Consequently, Michel Martelly was picked to compete in the runoff election and not Jude Celestin. And the former pop musician, known as "Sweet Micky", was selected as the president of Haiti.

OAS not happy with Ricardo Seitenfus for criticizing MINUSTAH role in Haiti

Ricardo Seitenfus, the OAS representative for Haiti, was removed from his position for unflattering statement made about the role of MINUSTAH in Haiti. In an Interview with Le Temps newspaper, Ricardo Seitenfus said that the arrival of MINUSTAH in Haiti did not accomplish great things to the population. Mr. Seitenfus went on to say that: "When the level of unemployment is 80 per cent, it is unbearable to deploy a stabilization mission. There is nothing to stabilize and everything to build."

Ricardo Seitenfus commented that the presence of MINUSTAH in Haiti made things worst instead of better. He also said that " [They] want to turn Haiti into a capitalist country, an export platform for U.S. market, it's absurd."
