Victims of the Regime learned with shock the death of Jean Claude Duvalier

Members of the group who have been pursuing Jean Claude Duvalier to court for abuse of their human rights learned with shock the death of the former Dictator. This is a terrible news, said Mr. Daniele Magloire, "Another Dictator is dead without being judged in Court.

The Death of Jean Claude Duvalier does not put an end to the ongoing fight of the victims to find justice. The militants as well as some international advocates for Human rights swear to contimue with their fight for justice.

Payam Akhavan, a Former UN prosecutor, did not show any sympathy for the former Haitian dictator. Payan who tried to put Duvalier on trial for crimes against humanity said that
"Those who were the victims of his reign are still living in Haiti"

Complaint against Jean-Bertrand Aristide by Members Victim of Cooperatives

A complaint was filed against Jean-Bertrand Aristide, former President, by the National Coordination of Members Victim of Cooperatives - (CONASOVIC) for conspiracy, fraud, theft and breach of trust.

Vast Swindling Leaves Members Ruined
CONASOVIC Coordonnateur, Rosemond Jean made clarifications that, former President of CNC - Council of Cooperatives, Henriot Petiote, Head of United Hearts, David Chery and former leader of the CADEC - Cooperative of Insurance Savings and Credit have also been pursued in the complaint by Members Victim of Cooperatives.

During the bankruptcy of 2002-2003, all assets had been lost by the financial cooperative members numbering thousands who had joined the scheme attracted by the 10% interest rate promised. There was a collapse of the get rich scheme due to the vast swindle thus leaving the members ruined and Haiti, much poorer.

Scandal in Michel Martelly Inner Circle as Josue Pierre Louis is accused of raping his secretary

The Chairman of the Board election, Me Joshua Pierre-Louis is hit with with a major accusation. He is accused of raping his secretary. Mr. Josué Pierre Louis is the current head of the Permanent Electoral Council (CEP)

According to Haiti Press Network, a complaint was filed in the Civil Court prosecutor of Port-au-Prince by one of the secretaries of Josué Pierre Louis who said that she was assaulted and raped by her supervisor.

It was also reported the the alleged rape victim is in the process of being evaluated medical after the abuse to confirm that the rape actually took place. Other important players are actually getting involved in the case such as the organizations defending the rights of women and especially RNDDH.

What is considered to be Kidnapping

Criminal law defines the act of kidnapping as the taking by force a victim, and keeping them illegally imprisoned. In the U.S., a considerable number of child kidnappings occur as the result of a custody battle. If the child gives their consent to be taken from the custodial parent, and the child is considered competent, certain jurisdictions do not define it as a kidnapping.

The U.S. kidnapping law derives from Britain's common law. In 1932, Charles and Anne Lindbergh lost their child to a kidnapper. The outcome of this world-wide publicized event was the passage of the Federal Kidnapping Act, giving the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) the authority to investigate kidnapping incidents. This federal law states if the kidnapper takes the child beyond state borders, the crime can be federally prosecuted.
