Euronews launches on Canalsat in Haiti and the Caribbean

The deal should prove lucrative to both parties as Euronews benefits from Canalsat's Caribbean market and Canalsat has the distinction of hosting one of the most unique news stations around in more of their market. Now, people in the French Antilles, which includes Martinique and Guadalupe, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and French Guyana can enjoy Euronews' singular format where the news is told almost exclusively through video footage explained by voice-overs. They rarely use in-vision reporters and are known for their lack of an anchorperson or studio.
Canalsat also includes the station in its regional hotel packages, suitable to countries outside of the French Caribbean as Euronews also boasts coverage in many languages, including, French, Italian, English, Spanish, German and Portuguese. Underlining Euronews' relevance is the fact that it can be found in 155 countries across the world and over 350 million homes.
Describing them as 'long-standing' partners, Euronews' global distribution manager, Arnaud Verlhac stated his delight in announcing the deal. Canalsat already aided the channel's extensive reach by broadcasting them in France, sub-Saharan Africa, Switzerland and the island, Reunion.
Happy too is Canal+ Antilles' managing director, Oleg Baccovich. He stated the significance of the European perspective to be gained by Canalsat's Caribbean viewers.
