Initially, the government will provide a funding of 1,750,000 gourdes to a conglomerate of 20 different merchant associations of La Gonâve to benefit its total 300 members engaged in fishing and agriculture. Further, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will provide 50,000 gourdes each to 48 small and medium enterprises. A forum will be built for the development and regulation of the fishing sector. Some fishing equipments like fishing boats, motors, ice boxes fishing igloo, fishing kits, etc had already been provided to these associations.

The government has plans for treatment and soil conservation, rehabilitation of mangroves and a fishing village will be built on the island. The farmers on the island have received around one thousand agriculture tools. The Ministry of Justice and Public Security has decided to increase the number of security personnel to strengthen the condition of security on the island.

The Ministry of Public Health and Population will provide an ambulance boat for the island which will be added to its present fleet of two. The department will open an office here to support its 11 local health centers. The administration will invest $5.0 million for the infrastructure development of La Gonâve of which $2.50 million will be earmarked for the construction of a tourist village, 200 social housing and a fishing village. Solidarity Vouchers and Emergency Vouchers are regularly issued to 3,000 and 2,000 families respectively.
