Who is Clarens Renois?

Clarens Renois, Powerful Force in Haiti Civic and Government Life. Haitian journalist, Clarens Renois, is a high profile participator in Haiti's government and civic society sectors. He took his degree at Faculte des Sciences Humaines at the University of Haiti in Communications. From there he pursued further journalism studies in the U.S. and Europe.

Renois came to prominence as a journalist after the fall of Jean-Claude Duvalier's repressive regime in 1986. He had already risen to the job of News Editor at Radio Metropole (RM) two years prior. During his time at RM he taught courses in journalism at various schools as well as seminars around the island.

He added to his resume with positions at Voice of America, CNN, ABC, (U.S.), and CBC (Canada). He also assumed correspondent duties for radio outlets Radio France International and Radio Suisse Romanade. In the last decade he has been manager at Agence France Presse, holding the position of Bureau Chief in Port-au-Prince.

Renois also ventured into TV, hosting "Perspectives" and "Tutti Frutti", eventually becoming the Program Director for a couple of years. He again took on new challenges by launching HPNHAITI.COM (Haiti Press Network), and beginning a business producing documentaries. He got into publishing by creating Vues d'Haiti magazine.

Renois is a sought-after host, serving as Master of Ceremonies for Haiti's most glamorous social galas all over the island. Married to a professional woman, who works for the United Nations, he has also pulled major duty in raising three of their sons.
