Manno Charlemagne and Konpe Filo out of commission

Manno Charlemagne AKA Joseph Emmanuel Charlemagne and Konpè Filo AKA Anthony Pascal are two popular Haitian artists who just find themselves out of commission. Literally speaking, these two were originally selected by the Martelly government to take part of the Commission of electoral evaluation. However after further negotiation and in an effort to have a more balanced commission, they were replaced by Me Gédéon Jean representing the human rights sector and Pastor Louis Armand, representing the Protestant Church.

Commission installation delayed by the Catholic Church

On Friday(December 18) The Election Assessment Commission was not installed as promised because Mgr. Patrick Aris was unable to receive consent from the Catholic Church in Haiti on time to join the group, specifically from Cardinal Chibly Langlois. However this does not mean that the commission has not been working. According to one of the members, Rosny Desroches, the five members of the commission had their first working meeting on Thursday, the same day the presidential decree was issued.

The five members include:
Rosny Desroches,
Anthony Pascal (Konpè Filo),
Bishop Patrick Aris
Euvonie Georges Emmanuel Augustus
Manno Charlemagne

Haitians Honored for commitment and consistency in 2013

Several individuals in Haiti have been commended by parliament for their hard work and perseverance in being strong contenders for freedom of speech, press, equalitarianism, etc.

They are: Frantz Duval, Emmelie Prophet Milce Jean Tholbert Alexis Simon Dieuseul Desras Gary Pierre-Paul Charles, Anthony Pascal aka"Konpè Filo" Marie Lucie Bonhomme and Me Carlos Hercules and Francis Concite

These individuals received plates of honor for their promotion of these freedoms and rule of law in their country. Two branches of parliament have deemed these individuals brave peace workers who would step forth when many others may have been too timid.
