The list of the new Ministerial Cabinet was published yesterday (Sunday, January 18), with inauguration scheduled to take place today at 4:00PM at Haiti National Palace

Laurent Lamothe, most powerful Haitian Prime Minister since 1987

It seems like no one can touch Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe. According to Political Analyst, Daly Valet, this Government shake-up confirms that the Prime Minister has a hold on the Government. Daly Valet went further to say that Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe Laurent Lamothe has been the most powerful Haitian Prime Minister since the adoption of the Constitution of 1987.

Haiti finance minister, Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, resigns

Minister of Finance and Economy of Haiti, Ms. Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, resigned from her post on Tuesday, April 09, 2013 with immediate effect. She sent her resignation to Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe where she clearly mentioned that she was leaving her post as the chief of Haitian economy. She served Haiti as the Minister of Finance and Economy for nearly 1 year. Prior to that, she worked for 8 years in Cuba and then returned to Haiti by giving up her residency in 2010. She is known by her nickname "the Iron Lady" and is considered by International community and many Haitians as one of the most competent members of Martelly administration.

Regine Godefroy, Resigns, 2nd Cabinet Member Out In 2 Days

The current Martelly-Lamothe government of Haiti is not only facing external problems of Haitian economy as a whole but is also dealing internal instability. The day after the resignation of Economy and Finance Minister, Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, the Martelly-Lamothe government faced a second blow when it lost its second woman minister, Regine Godefroy. Godefroy held the post of Minister of Communication for Haiti and was installed in office on January 24, 2013.

Radio Tele-Metropole and Radio Tele-Kiskeya (both owned privately) cited and unnamed source and said that the Communication Minister had quit her post but none of the outlets ever mentioned the reason behind this resignation. Godefroy was installed in office after the second shakeup from Laurent Lamothe ever since he became Prime Minister of Haiti in May 2012. Before assuming the post of Communication Minister, Godefroy was the Director of Haitian Postal Service.

Martelly-Lamothe Ministerial Cabinet Reshuffle

The Haitian government has finalized on a cabinet reshuffle following pressure on President Michael Martelly.

The reshuffle is the third during the 20 months reign of Martelly and the 2nd in 5 months. There have been claims that the current government has been unstable due to a non-performing cabinet.

The Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe informed the public about the planned reshuffle via his twitter account on Tuesday.

The reshuffle comes after several ministers resigned from their ministerial positions.

The swearing in of the new cabinet is scheduled to happen this Wednesday at around 10.00 am before the Prime Minister leaves the country for Devo. Among the ministers who were retained during the ministers shakeup include; the minister in charge of public health and his counterpart in tourism.

Haiti Cabinet Shake, Bernice Fidelia, Magalie Racine and David Bazile as new members

After so many speculations. After so many names mentioned to be on the list of termination in the Government of Laurent Lamothe, the decision has been made. After being in power for just over a year and a half. The Martelly presidency obviously has not been working to the satisfaction of the president.

As a result, some heads have to roll!

Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe gave the news about the reshuffling of his ministerial Cabinet via Twitter. The new members of his cabinet include:

Bernice Fidelia who replaces Daniel Supplice as minister for Haitians Living Abroad. She recently occupied the position of liaison with the Haitian diaspora.

The new Ministerial cabined for Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe is out and we have the names. Many of the same individuals were kept in their positions. Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe presented his general policy before the Haitian Senators and it was approved before midnight on May 8, 2012
