Patrick Apollon AKA Patchouko, Haitian drummer
A Haitian born drummer who has been able to easily make out of his own ambitions, Patrick Apollon AKA Patchouko is known to have joined the Haitian music group Zin straight from its birth in 1990. He has been the drummer for the group ever since and has had a great career while at it. He was one of the few people able to make out of being self-driven and motivated people and for the kind of interests and love for music that they had. He has stayed with the group ever since its birth to today and has been able to make if out of being a great person in the industry.
Patrick Casseus, Haitian guitarist and a drum player
A guitarist and a drum player from Haiti, Patrick Casseus was in the group known as Les Difficiles de Petion Ville which was headed by Henry Celestin guitarist, singer and composer. In 1970 Henry Celestine resigned from the group but the members of group formed another group by the name Difficiles PAction -Ville. In 1970 Ti Manno joined the band group which became so famous because of his presence.
In 1980's Ti Manno began his own band known as Gemini All Stars which he carried along some people from the other band like Mario Germain on Bass, Ansyto Mercier on keyboard Patrick Cesseus on drum, Imgant Manigat vocal and Ti Claude Geffrard Cajuste on lead Guitar. They came up with an album Expoitation. After that album all the members left the group because of being mistreated by the manager, Ti Menno's wife. Some of the members went back to Difficiles PAction Express. In 1985 the Difficiles PAction Express were awarded a large bonus by the government for performing well at the carnival. The members expected that the money would be divided among them but to their surprise the money was used to buy some instruments.
Shedly Abraham, Haitian drummer
Shedly Abraham is a Haitian born professional drummer and artist who have lived to his expectations of being a great and popular professional in the music industry. He is one of the few musicians who have over the years been able to easily come up with exactly what they need to make it in the industry. He began his career back in the very old days where music had a very different kind of attention as it currently does and as such he was able to make it out of being a great professional.
Tuco Bouzi Biography
Tuco Bouzi is a well-known Haitian drummer and composer. He is the founder of reputed Dixie Band. He earned enormous popularity among the Haitian community through this band.
The first album of Tuco Bouzi, Bel Carnaval, with Dixie band was released in 1984. He released a number of hit albums with the band including Malouines, Roule, Lolita, Ti Yaya, El Unico, Vérité, Aba, Abou Yeye, Pretty Lady, Abu, Kimbe Compaou, La Ki Ni Nana, Bayo Bayo, Voye Monte, Andrea, Les Grands Success de Dixi Band, La Ban'n A Touco. One of his legendary tracks is "Tuco's salsa" which is in the album Vérité.
However, the band was broken and Tuco Bouzi started working on his own and with different other bands and singers. Dixie Band is so popular that even now they are invited to perform in different national programmes in Haiti.
Yvon Andre of Tabou Combo 'Kapi'
He is one of the original members and players of the Tabou Combo music group. Yvon Andre 'Kapi' was born in Petion Ville, Haiti where he was raised up. He got an interest in the music industry at a very tender age of only 17 where he was still in high school and during what time there were little expectations on any of the artists back then.
Kapi was a drummer and was in a local band when he got to be invited to play at one of the major occasions in the town. It was in this party that he got to be noticed by Albert Chancy who was the founder of the music group Tabou Combo. By then it was not known as Tabou Combo but instead was called Los Incognitos. However it was at this party that the group to be was founded and was the beginning of their long journey to fame.
Claude "Tico" Pasquet to be honored by County Commissioner Jean Monestime
Claude "Tico" Pasquet was a drummer and percussionist in Konpa music. He was born in Haitian family of music, where people like Dodof, Archibald, Alexandre, Jean and Andre came from. He developed drumming skills from his uncles Alexandre and Richard. He compared a drum to life in music because the drum made music sweet. He played in a group known as La Belle Etoile for two years and in 1967 his family migrated to New York.
His passion for music would not allow him to stay without singing so he joined another group known as Les Freres Sicot. This group made him to grow very fast in music and with time he started focusing on techniques of international drummers like Steve Gadd. In 1969 Claude "Tico" Pasquet joined a group of his own generation known as Babby Jazz and later Les Difficiles de New York. He was a skilled drummer whom everyone admired. He went back to Haiti in 1972 to play with Robert Martino in Les Gypsies but his unique drumming nature was noticed by all the fans.
