New Tourism Minister Guy Didier Hyppolite

On Monday, March 28, 2016, Guy Didier Hyppolite has been installed as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries, replacing the outgoing Minister Stéphanie Villedrouin. His name was announced by the new Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles. Prior to this appointment Guy Didier Hyppolite was serving as the Vice President of the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH). The installation of Guy Didier as the new Minister of Tourism was held at the National Palace following the inauguration ceremony of Prime Minister Enex Jean-Charles and of the members of the Government of the Provisional President of the Republic Jocelerme Privert. In his new post, Hyppolite will serve in the administration of the Interim President Jocelerme Privert.


During his inaugural speech as the new Tourism Minister, Guy Didier Hyppolite expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert and the Prime Minister, Mr. Enex Jean-Charles. Hyppolite said, they have honored him with their confidence by entrusting the great responsibility to head this important ministry. He appreciated the role played by his predecessor Ms. Stéphanie Villedrouin who has almost managed an impossible challenge by bringing back our beloved country on the world tourist map. This achievement was impossible without the bold commitment of our investors and tourism operators who never stopped believing in dreams in which we are living today.

Hyppolite said under his leadership, the Tourism Ministry would continue to promote the exquisiteness of Haiti as the ultimate tourist destination; the ministry would put on solid infrastructure essential for sustainable development of this prime economic sector and assists operators and partners. He also thanked former President Martelly for giving him the opportunity to serve his country since October 2011, allowing him to put all his knowledge, commitment and know-how at the service of the nation through the tourism sector.
