Haiti loses former ambassador Guy Alexandre

Unfortunately Guy Alexandre, Haitian diplomat and professor, died at the age of sixty-eight from a heart attack in Port-au-Prince on 28th February 2014.

Mr. Alexandre was born in St. Marc, in 1945. At the age of forty-six, he became Haiti's diplomat to the Dominican Republic. He then became an important person, who could help people have a better understanding of the tense diplomatic relations between the two countries. Alexandre would lose this diplomatic post in 2003.

In 2004, he started working as a senior advisor to the Haitian Government for international relations. He left the post in 2006. After this he started working as a senior advisor and program manager in the International Organization for Migration in Haiti. A short time ago he published a book that was about how to improve the relationship of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
