FLASH - Guy Philippe sentenced to nine years in U.S. prison

Haitian rebel leader Guy Philippe was sentenced to nine years in prison in Miami federal court today (Wednesday June 21, 2017). He was found guilty for accepting bribes to protect cocaine smugglers who used Haiti to ship drugs to the United States.

Philippe who is now 49 years old will be free when he becomes 58 years old. He will have plenty of time to continue with his political dream.

As you may remember, Guy pleaded guilty two months ago to drug related money laundering. That decision allowed him to avoid going to trial for drug trafficking which would likely put him to prison for life

Report put Guy Philippe right in the middle of attack in Cayes' Police Station

The investigation on the attack on the night of May 15 and 16, 2016 in Cayes is complete. According to The Bureau of Criminal Affair(BAC), the attack was Planned in Pastel with Guy Philippe with assistance from his troop. The report reveals that these people had a mission to destabilize the country by attacking Police Stations.

The report indicated that the attackers took away with them: 19 shotguns, 2 M1 riffles, 5 Lynch guns, ammunition and communication equipment, 1 Galil riffle, 5 pistols, 4 bulletproof vests and a Car Nissan.

Arrest warrants are being issued for the arrest of the group leader for Guy Philippe, as well as Yves Jeudy, Michel Alophene Lafalaise, Willy Joseph, Camy, Ricot, Vital Aslin, Marcelus Delande, Teleus Joseph Remy, Komandan Cedras, Komandan Renard, Ketelie, Jean Marc, Athanael Joseph, Rony, Wesmy, Ti Mousson, Renald St Villieres and Cenat ey Komandan Desire.

Guy Philippe not showing up for convocation, invoking immunity

As you may remember, Me Roosevelt Zamor who is the Government Commissioner at the Court of First Instance of Jérémie had invited Mr. Philippe on may 24 to come in order to answer some questions as his name was cited in the attack perpetrated at the Police Station in Cayes. However lawyers for Guy Philippe has asked an extension for two weeks to prepare for the court invitation. The request was granted and the new date was set for June 7, 2016

However, Guy Philippe was nowhere to be seen on Tuesday, June 7. His attorney, quoting Article 237 of the 2015 electoral decree argued that his client did not have to be present: " No citizen, whose candidacy for elective office was approved by the Provisional Electoral Council, can subject to deprivation of liberty measures only pursuant to a final judgment, except in cases of flagrante delicto."

Guy Philippe requested 15 days to respond to Court request

A summons was issued for the senatorial candidate and DEA fugitive Guy Philippe to appear before the Court today (Tuesday, May 24, 2016). However, his attorney, Reynold Georges, said his client needs 15 days to prepare his defense before showing.

Guy Philippe made several declarations in the press recently of his intention to go into rebellion and overthrow President Jocelerme Privert if he did not resign on Saturday, May 14, 2016. This was before the attack in early Monday morning, May 16, 2016 on the Police Station in Cayes.

Guy Philippe summoned to the Parquet of Jeremie, May 24

Problem will never end. The former rebel leader Guy Philippe has been summoned to appear in front of the Parquet of Jeremie tomorrow, May 24, 2016, to answer to the accusations related to the attackers on the police station in the town of Les Cayes. The summon came from the government commissioner to the Court of first instance, Roosevelt Zamor.

Will Guy Philippe answer this call of the Parquet of Jeremie?

He is a candidate for the Senate of Grande Anse, not yet an official entitled to any immunity.

Jocelerme Privert: attacks in Cayes done by bandit, criminal and trafficker

President Jocelerme Privert set the tone in Arcahaie on May 18 for the 213th anniversary of Haiti Flag, specially and wants to send a clear signal to those interested in crime. In regard to the terror attack on the departmental police station in Les Cayes, Jocelerme Privert stated: " When a person sits in his home, asks people to take up arms and attack a police station and kill police officers, he has no other name but bandit, criminal and trafficker." He went on to say that" .......we will not tolerate anarchists, murderers, traffickers, criminals, who look to put the country in a trap. Law enforcement has the order to track down these criminals and bring them before justice."

Guy Philippe wans Jocelerme Privert not to go after him

Guy Philippe is one man who does not wear his pants for good fabric. The Senate candidate of Grand'Anse sent a warning to President Jocelerme not to send any armed individuals in his direction as the government is trying to blame him for the recent attack on the Police Station in Cayes. His enemies are not in the Police Station in Cayes but instead at the National palace. Guy Philippe is also calling on the population of Grand'Anse to get ready to cut roads in case of an eventual attack; that he will do the rest because he has well prepared men ready to face the men of Privert.

Guy Philippe rejects his involvement, stating Remy Teleus was coerced

This morning (Tuesday May 17, 2016) Guy Philippe denied any accusation that he was involved in the assault on the Commissariat in Cayes. On the airwaves of Radio Metropole, Guy Philippe denounced the accusations against him. He stated in the video currently circulating, Remy Teleus never mentioned his name. It was not until one of the reporters repeated his name to Remy Teleus that he confirmed that Guy Philippe sent him.

Since yesterday, following he attack on the Police station in Cayes, the attention has been focused on Guy Philippe. According to one of the bandits captured, Remy Teleus, Guy Philippe was the one who orchestrated this attack.

FLASH - Guy Philippe, a suspect in the attack on Commissariat of Cayes

The plan to assault the Commissariat in Cayes was planned in Pestel by no other than Guy Philippe. This is what was revealed in the preliminary investigation on the attack this morning. One of the bandits captured, Teneus Remy, spoke, stating that he was involved in the Coup; that everything was organized in Pestel by Guy philippe

Guy Philippe threatened to remove Grand'Anse from Haiti

Guy Philippe is back. The former rebel army who contributed to the exile of former president Jean Bertrand Aristide is now making new threats. According to Guy Philippe, if a Transitional Government is put in place to replace following the departure of the Martelly government, he will remove Grand'Anse Department from the rest of the country. He criticized the CEP for the postponement of the January 24th election and concluded that the country can't function without a representative from his Department in the Senate. The only way he would allow a Provisional Government to take over is with proper representation from Grand'Anse.
