Raoul Peck's Fatal Assistance Compared to Nazi Tactics by Sean Penn

The film takes viewers on a two year journey inside the challenging, contradictory huge rebuilding efforts in the post earthquake Haiti and indicates that a major portion of assistance was never disbursed or ever used in the actual reconstruction. The documentary shows the complexity of the reconstruction process and effect of foreign humanitarian and development aid, revealing in the most disturbing way to the extent of a general failure. Billions of dollars were promised but never materialized, or the fraction that came, were completely wasted, and the background narrative of the movie raises more questions than it answers. He questioned political decision-makers, engineers and private contractors and - and ordinary Haitians, who have begun a painstaking reconstruction of their own. 'Fatal Assistance' is a strong, convincing and quietly furious documentary that examines how the efforts of international aid agencies failed in Haiti after the catastrophic 2010 earthquake. Sean Penn, who is the CEO of J/P Haitian Relief Organization and ambassador at large to Haiti, has criticized the film and its director Peck and compares his strategies as were once used by the tyrants and Nazis. He has complained that Peck is confusing the funds committed by international donors (foreign governments). Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies is nothing but the way long-threaded discussions finally end in mudslinging competitions.

Penn has said that there are many confusions, a worthy investigation is needed to be done on how much money actually reached the Haitians.
