Michel Martelly invited to attend NAACP National convention in Florida

The Haitian President, Michel Martelly was invited to participate in U.S. oldest civil rights organization, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, (NAACP) national convention in Florida. The convention will run from Saturday July 13, 2013 and continues Wednesday of that same week

The NAACP will mark this year to major events in the history of movement: the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and also the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Mississippi NAACP leader Medgar Evers.

Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the oldest and largest civil rights organization in the United States. Its objective is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.

Haitian Businessman Moise Garcon, Public Service Merits

Moise Garcon, a Haitian businessman, media coordinator, and activist in social- movement organizations, is about to be included in the latest edition of the high-profile and socially-prestigious WHO'S WHO publication. Moise Garcon has completed his studies in journalism, media communications, and marketing analysis. He is currently working on his dissertation and preparing for his orals as a pre-doctorate applicant in leadership skills within corporate culture.

Moise Garcon's accomplishments in political, social, cultural, and civic organizations are impressive. He is a member of no less than nine social-advancement groups, among them Black Alliance, NAACP, UNESCO Center for Peace, and SEQUOIA. He markets an upbeat image of his country as a founding member and Director of the Haitian Diaspora organization, Ayiti Demain. His work ethic and dynamism in this group has resulted in Ayiti Demain being invited for the first time to the Socio-Economic Summit of Haitians 2012, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Haitian Superstar Wyclef Jean is honored by NAACP

Wyclef Jean, the Haitian and International superstar is being honored by The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The former The Fugees' star has been one of the key figures leading the relief efforts in Haiti which was left devastated by a 7.0-magnitude Haiti Earthquake in January. The charity work if Wyclef Jean has already earned him the Artist of the Year prize from America's prestigious Harvard University in Massachusetts, and now he has been named the recipient of the Vanguard Award for Work in Racial and Social Issues at the upcoming NAACP Image Awards, held in conjunction with Ford Motor Company.
