Marleine Wesh to represent Haiti in 2012 Olympics in London
Marleine Wesh will be accompanied by four other Haitian athletes who also have booked their place in the London Olympics. Linouse Desravines is the only Haitian to compete in Judo whereas Jeffrey Julmis will participate in 110 m/hurdles, Samyr Laine in triple jump and Moise Joseph in 800 meters.
Marleine along with her Haitian Olympics teammates reached France on May 30 where they will get prepared for London Olympics. Though Haitian athletes will go directly to London from France, Marleine will compete in NCAA Championship in Des Moines in June before joining the Summer Olympic.
Last time Haiti won a medal in Olympic was in 1928 when Silvio Cator won a silver medal in men's long jump. Marleine Wesh will be looking forward to get rid of Haitian medal drought in Olympics. She was born on February 16, 1991. She went to Landstown High school and studied Psychology. She was the first female in the history of Virginia high school to win 100 meters, 200 meter and 300 meters dash events.
