Linouse Desravines Dreams of Gold
Linouse Desravines was introduced to judo in 2008 by her brother who was a national judo champion. After only a few years of training, she has been able to win several nation and international judo tournaments such as the bronze title in the Pan American Games in 2011 which was held in Guadalajara.
To prepare for nearing London Olympics, Linouse Desravines is currently training in Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital, with two renowned Haiti judo coaches and former Olympians, Ulrick Louis-Charles and Andres Ramos Franco. Desravines' future Olympic gold will be a first for Haiti and a start for many more.
Judo is a popular martial art and combat sport worldwide. It originated in Japan and has been entered as an Olympic sport where judokas, judo practitioners in other words, from different nations compete to win the Olympic gold title in judo. In Haiti, more and more aspiring young judokas are training and waiting to get their shot at the once-in-a-lifetime chance to represent their country in the foreign sport and bring pride to their mother country.
