There has been major improvement in Toussaint Louverture International airport in Port-au-Prince. These picture are definitely impressive. they show a new airport equipped with bathroom, modern bathrooms, a medical room to assist people with medical needs.

The new repair was completed recently. Haitian president Michel Martelly had the honor to reopen the airport on November 25, 2012.

Toussaint Louverture airport is also equipped with lounges and several retail stores. new Check-in counters, gates and immigration facilities are on the lower floor. The airport has 3 jet bridges, but most passengers walk onto aircraft from mobile stairs.

Toussaint Louverture airport serves international carriers such as: American Airlines, Aero Caribbean Santiago de Cuba, Air Canada to Montréal-Trudeau, Air Caraïbes in direction to Cayenne, Fort-de-France, Paris-Orly, Pointe-à-Pitre, Santo Domingo-La Isabela, Sint Maarten. Also it serves Air France, Air Transat, Air Turks and Caicos Providenciales, Aerolíneas Mas, Copa Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Dutch Antilles Express, Insel Air Curaçao, Spirit Airlines.

I am way up at the Hotel Montana and you can still smell the fires down below.

It is wonderful up here but it would be better if there was some kind of burn ban.
