"Canada will stop funding new aid projects in Haiti until Ottawa finds a better way for Haiti to help itself", said Julian Fantino
There goes the majority of our annual budget
According to the Canadian official, Canada has been one of the biggest donors to Haiti, delivering $1 billion in development cash to the island nation since 2006. He promised to continue to fund programs in Haiti that are in progress, but no new ones.
Now which of the following statements coming from the International Co-operation Minister in Canada, Julian Fantino, you find more insulting or repugnant. Or do you think they are OK coming from a foreign official.
Julian Fantino took the opportunity to compare conditions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, observing a drastic difference between two nations share the same island of Hispaniola.
The International Co-operation Minister also mentioned the filth and garbage he observed during his recent visit to Haiti, wondering: "How a country with so many unemployed people had not found a way to clean it up"
What do you think?

It is what it is!!! you reap what you sow. Julian Fantino is right.
his statement is neither insulting nor repugnant.
Maybe more people should have said it. If we're a proud country; the first independent black nation in the western hemisphere, then we should be ashamed of ourselves.
I've not been to DR, but everyone I've talked to who's ever been say that it is very clean.
During my last visit in Peru last December I was amazed to see how clean this city was. The government has used the unemployed to create jobs and keep that city super clean.
Even though the comments of Mr Fantino are insulting but He is right.
The haitian Government could create jobs for so many unemployed and at the same time keep P-a-P
I think that the minister is right.
Haiti should be able to help itself and the cleaning initiative is one good example among many others. One should never leave the Haitian government manege any foreign aid as the previous government the help will never go where it
More than true, I am haitian but sincerely Mr. Julian is right, if you try to find out the progress in my country you'll never find anything, many countries help us but you do not see the result.
We are unemployed and our country is so dirty, we can't even clean it up. Haitian people we have to do something for
