The private university, which aims to disseminate high-level education throughout Haiti and the Haitian Diaspora, was founded less than ten years ago by the Reverend Wilfrid Mindor. Already it is one of the highest rated universities within the Francophone world, praised for the variety of studies offered within its walls.
Managed by the rector, Jean Raymond Exume, the school offers courses under the faculties of Law, Management Sciences, Nursing, Accounting Studies, Engineering Science, Evangelical Theology, Computer Science, Agricultural Sciences, Education and the Science of Diplomatic International Relations, a faculty in which their main competition is the Academie Nationale Diplomatique et Consulaire (ANDC or NORAD).
Haiti's Polytechnic University Centre, like most other schools in Haiti suffered much structural damage during the January 12, 2010 earthquake. Their road to recovery was arduous and slow, but the school persevered and is now back on track as one of the country's leading universities at home and within the wider French-speaking world. With its official language regime being French Creole, the school engages the average Haitian in their own language and equips them for the wider word with a sound education.
