The Digicel Foundation recently opened its 150th school in Haiti

With the success so vast, O'Brien stated that the project would aid the future by the investment into education today. As such, the foundation is continuing the project with a new segment over the next 2 years to benefit 20,000 more children both directly and indirectly. The new construction program will build more schools, but the project will also reinvest in the schools already functioning to aid some 500 teachers by providing them with further teacher training.
This jump start on Haiti's future, through the investment in the education of its children, was done in partnership of the Digicel Foundation and the Ministry of Education. The schools, with their disaster prevention standards, requisite library and computer labs, plus updated sanitary facilities, classrooms, administrative wings and play areas, are a giant step up from the structures before them.
