Lamothe welcomed the award, saying that it was such an honor to receive such recognition from his alma mater. If not for Barry University, he would not be the man he is today, Lamothe added. The award is given to Barry graduates who have made great achievements in their fields, as well as those who uphold the university's values and mission. Business leaders, politicians, coaches, and teachers, among others, have been recognized in the past.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas University also took pride of Lamothe's achievements. It invited the prime minister, who has assumed the government position earlier this year, to speak at the Global Entrepreneurship Week. He agreed to become the guest of honor as the event is set to hold a session about "Unleashing Entrepreneurship in Haiti."
Laurent Lamothe has been taking initiatives to help Haiti recover from the aftermath of a deadly earthquake in 2010. However, he has been dealing with a lot of challenges as people complain over increasing prices of commodities and political conflicts in the country. But Laurent Lamothe will continue to work to give Haitians a better future.
