Dorcena Forry Redefined What It Means To Be Black Irish

Linda Dorcena Forry is a 41 year old Haitian American woman who was born and raised in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston. She is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts Senate who represents the first Suffolk district since June 2013. While presiding the recent elegant South Boston's annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast, this State Senator has redeemed Southie's gritty honor on Sunday March 16. State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry is the first woman to command the podium, the first Dorchester resident, the first Haitian-American and the first person of color to helm the legendary event-- to host Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Breakfast in South Boston. It is a venue where politicians poke fun at themselves and colleagues.

Dorcena Forry is an expert in Irish step dance. She has tested her jokes about her family and own staff in the Senate office. She had prepared herself by watching over the video recording of earlier hosts as a football player prepares himself for a big game. She had said that she wants to uphold the tradition and had made clear that she wanted to put a fresh stamp on the seventy years old tradition which has lost some of its luster. The stage and musical act had been redesigned this year on her order. The convention center in South Boston was filled with more diverse crowd who joined from her multiethnic district like South Boston, Mattapan, Dorchester and Hyde Park.

A laughter camouflaged the complicated story of a city's rebirth and reshaping its future when she spoke directly to the audience watching the program over television outside: please do not adjust your television, there has nothing wrong with it--I am a woman out here.

She once said that she began planning the event in October and raised $70,000 with a target of $100,000 to produce the show. It shows that she had been obsessive about making sure she is well prepared to execute the responsibility given. Dorcena Forry is truly a face of the future and a proof that Irish spirit is nothing but a matter of soul.
