Michel Martelly holds talks with former Haitian president Preval

On Tuesday, October 14, 2014, the Haitian President Michel Martelly welcomed the former Haitian President René Préval at his office to discuss about holding the coming legislative and local elections in the country within a shortest possible time. President Martelly invited ex- President René Préval to ask about his advice on handling the ongoing the political situations efficiently. He considers President Preval as an experienced politician who confronted a number difficult situations; the only president in the country who has completed two terms as the President of the nation. Meeting a personality like him was important because he was an expert negotiator who managed to reach many consensus under difficult situations. As per the President's statement, their discussion had revolved around the coming election, education, agriculture, reforestation, environment, and many other things. The former President Preval was flown to the President's palace by a helicopter from a remote northern town. He said he has advised Martelly of the current political situation and hopes his advice will be helpful in solving the problems that the country is facing.

As a successful protest against the government of Michel Martelly ended on November 18, new manifestation for the "Dechoukage" of the regime is scheduled for November 29 in front of the US Embassy in Port-au-Prince. This is a picture worth sharing with you which was first noticed by touthaiti.com. Haiti was the host for the 24th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), which will be held on February 18 and 19, 2013.

This picture you are looking at was a banner placed along the road Bourdon on the way to Pétion-Ville. This banner in which the Haitian President personally welcomes the CARICOM members to Haiti.

In my opinion, this is a classic case of propaganda on the part of this government. We have seen it in many other situations where the credit is giving personally to the president.

Did you see the last visit of Michel Martelly at the Citadelle Laferriere?

Did you see the show that President Michel Martelly when he visited the Citadelle Laferrière this year?

The staff that was present at the time was blamed for the state of disrepair of our National pride Citadelle Laferrière.

Michel Martelly was not willing to either listen to or accept any justification provided by the employees or representatives from ISPAN.

Present during the encounter at Citadelle Laferriere were: the Minister of Culture, Mario Dupuy, officials of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), responsible for the restoration of the citadel, Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Balmir Villedrouin, Gregory Mayard-Paul and other journalists.

In brief, Rene Preval explained that thi is not the first time they talk and that Michel is an old friend. The two also talked about what is currently going on in the country. According to President Rene Preval, Haiti does not need "Dirigent", but needs the country to succeed. He also said that it is not about Michel Martell or Rene Preval, "We need to put our heads together to make it work in the country", said the current leader.

This is an interview that our President-Elect gave to John Yearwood, a reporter of Miami Herald this week. I would say that Michel Martelly handled himself pretty well. As you see in the video, there were several areas discussed in the interview.

Michel Martelly stated that the people of Haiti have chosen changes and because he was identified as such, he was selected.

In the area of job for the Haitian population, Martelly wants to focus on agricultural programs. "Haiti needs diversity", according to him. He intends to put peasants back to work.

It is Official - Michel Martelly the Next President of Haiti

The CEP just gave the awaited preliminary results of the run-off election in Haiti. As it was announced earlier today, candidate Michel martelly is the winner. The new president of the Republic of Haiti will be Michel Martelly.

Percentage of votes:

Michel Martelly: 67.57% of the votes

Mirlande Manigat: 31.74% of the votes

The CEP started publicizing the results at 7:30pm, on April 4, 2011 and by :00, Candidate Michel Martelly was declared winner for the presidency of Haiti.

According to Miami Herald, Michel Martelly is reportedly the winner of the Election. The Miami Herald just reported the news now as we speak.
