National Institute of Music of Haiti (INAMUH), System of Symphony Orchestras

The idea of developing musical education like the National Institute of Music of Haiti came from the President Mr. Martelly who was inspired by hearing a performance by the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra on a trip to Venezuela. In most of the Caribbean countries already have same kind of music education programs. Therefore the Haitian President felt the urgency to initiate such programs in Haiti as well.

The Cultural Minister of Haiti Mr. Mario Dupuy identified music as one of the certain techniques to make the children confident and responsible citizens. In addition, Director of the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR) Arielle Villedrouin stressed on how the initiative taken by Martelly government could help the youth of the country towards ideal nobility.

National Institute of Music of Haiti will be placed on a huge property in Dopalais town of the country. This institute is a part of multi initiative of the government to change the image of the nation to a better one.

A new way to educate about music is being created in Haiti known as the National Institute of Music of Haiti.
