Phoenix Stadium in Haiti, Plan for Haiti National soccer stadium revealed

The plans for a new national soccer stadium in Haiti, the Phoenix Stadium, is moving ahead and this is what the new stadium will look like when work is complete.

The project to build a new soccer stadium in Haiti has been in the making following the 2012 earthquake. Two principal actor in trying to give Haiti its first National soccer stadium are Boby Duval who is the founder and director of the Cité Soleil nonprofit L'Athlétique d'Haïti.

Based on the plan, the new Haiti National Soccer Stadium will include 12,000 seats. The Phoenix Stadium in Haiti will also include academy and community garden.

Morad Fareed, a former player for the Palestinian national soccer team and now a real estate developer in New York is an integral part of the project. The site designer is New York-based architect Carlos Zapata.

Haiti National soccer stadium is expected to cost between $2.5 million and $5 million. Actual construction will start by the end of 2013 and will take about five months to complete.

Once again, Haitian planners are thinking inside the box. When it comes to planning a project of this magnitude to harbor the national sport of Haiti, and the fastest growing one in the world, the project is very mesquine.

A Stadium with seventy thousand capacity is thinking outside of the box. Think about it before implementing this project.

So they're building soccer staduims, cathedrals-it's all good but do they not realize that building roads, hospitals, clinics, providing 24 hours electrical power, decongesting the streets of Port-au-Prince, building homes to get the people of the streets are more important and needed for the country, how can a people have its priorities so
