Lionel Pressoir 2012 Digicel Entrepreneur

The top-award recipient, Haitian entrepreneur Lionel Pressoir, received awards in two categories. He won the coveted "Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year 2012" in addition to the "Digicel Education, Tourism, and Culture" award.

Pressoir won for his involvement in reviving the Haitian tourism industry. He started Lojistik SA to create tailored travel packages to incentivize travelers to come to Haiti. Before his involvement in the tourism industry, Pressoir successfully set up two apparel companies that hired 650 employees. In addition to his business activities, he established Foundation Destination Haiti to support non-government organizations helping in the country's reconstruction efforts.

Digicel CEO, Damian Blackburn, described Pressoir as a pioneering "entrepreneurial spirit". His gift, Blackburn expressed, was to detect opportunities and optimize them for success. Blackburn added once Pressoir's projects are brought to fruition, the benefits will extend to everyone. The success of each project will mark a milestone towards putting Haiti back together, aligning with Digicel's 2012 theme "Building Our Tomorrow".

Haiti President Michel Martelly congratulated Pressoir with remarks that extended the government of Haiti's appreciation towards him for ". . . his love for this country and its people . . ."

Other award recipients at the event won in the categories of industry, services, environment, and agribusiness.
